L2 Further Mathematics (AQA)
The Level 2 AQA Further Mathematics qualification is designed for high-achieving students aiming to extend their mathematical knowledge beyond the standard GCSE syllabus. It bridges the gap between GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, making it an excellent preparation for post-16 mathematical studies, especially for those pursuing STEM subjects. Most of Mr Alvin’s year 10 students sit their L2 Further maths exams as a private candidate at the end of year10. This will give them clear understanding of public examinations and motivate them to do well in their other GCSE subjects. All the students in past sat their exams in Year 10, achieved grade 8 and 9.
A Level Further Mathematics
In-depth preparation for Core Pure Mathematics, Mechanics, Further Pure, decision maths and Statistics for Edexcel, AQA, OCR A and OCR B(MEI) exam boards. First year specification will be covered by spring term and summer term mostly preparation for school mock/UCAS prediction exam. With extensive knowledge Mr Alvin acquired through exam marking process with all the exam boards, he will be guiding students through how to approach each type of exam questions and provide tailor made exam questions to prepare them for these exams. During the summer holidays of the first-year students will have classes with 2 weeks holiday which can be mutually agreed by both parties. Second year classes will run through summer term of first year till spring term of second year. Full A level specification will be covered by end of spring term and second year summer term will be focusing on exam practice. Extensive knowledge of further maths will be an advantage for students who will be doing university entrance exams.
